1/25/2024 0 Comments AI War 2 for apple instal![]() ![]() It also widens the possible options that need to be taken into consideration at any one time. They are game-altering objects, I like the idea of trying to take people outside their comfort zone of solo AI in an attempt to gain an advantage, (and to clarify, it should be an 'attempt', as currently, on higher difficulties, it's a bit of a sure-thing). ![]() ![]() I speculate is that the community doesn't use beacons too much in general, but i wanted to verify that, hence the discussion. I'm not surprised by it not aligning with Chris's guidelines, (though i don't know where they are) otherwise this topic wouldn't exist in the first place. I'd prefer beacons be used as a middleman, a negotiator of sorts for a fair way to bring factions into the game, rather than a purely "hey wanna look at this" option for new players, but what's the overall sentiment for them?Īlso the tsunami CPA is now the default, maybe i should load my old, otherwise unwinnable D10 game now *dusts off save file*, i think it makes it way easier, but i do think its the more interesting of the two options, perhaps it can be scaled up, or i need some time to see how effective it is. As an example, if you were to fight a D10 AI, the spire's discover node would be set to Intensity 7 (or even higher), perhaps the Scourge node would also give the AI scourge to counterbalance you at D8 and above, and the nanocaust beacon could have its science reward reduced. I was thinking of suggesting that some beacons can be scaled to an AI's difficulty (by default, the strongest one), so that they'd be seen as a choice, rather than a game alterer that will be used to the player's advantage. I think under this direction, the frequency of beacons being used will go down, as this statement is practically an acknowledgement that they do make the game easier, i feel like we'll see a reduction in their use, but overall, i don't know how much the community currently uses them. I had planned to win a D10 game using spire, but that game's no longer going to count, so uh. ![]() I've liked beacons in the game, after getting used to them, as it feels like it's trying to present a "fair" way to add factions to the game without delegitimising a game, but i do also acknowledge that the majority of beacons are very powerful (Spire, Scourge, Nano in particular), and overall gives the player an advantage especially on higher difficulties. It's noted that for a pure D10, it requests that you have this setting on, so that beacons are removed from the game So i noticed today that a few new settings have been added to the options, one of which is galaxy design under galaxy-wide options with beacons being removable. ![]()
